What your AI can do with your course

Once your AI chat is connected, you can ask it to look at and change your courses in plain language. This lists what it can actually do.

Before you start

Connect your AI chat first: Connect Claude on the web or Connect Claude Desktop. The AI chat connection is in beta and works only if it is enabled on your account. Editing needs the Pro plan and a connection created with read-and-edit access.

What your AI can read

  • List your courses, and show the modules, lessons and content brief of one.
  • Read the content of one lesson - blocks, quiz, scenario or raw HTML.
  • List a lesson's stored previous versions.
  • List reviewer comments left on your share links, and see which lesson and fragment each one points at.

What your AI can change (Pro only)

  • Add a lesson: creates an empty lesson, ready to fill with text, an interaction, a quiz or a scenario.
  • Delete a lesson: takes a backup snapshot of the whole course first.
  • Rewrite a block, or edit part of a lesson: up to 10 pointed edits in one call - replacing text, changing a field, inserting or deleting a block.
  • Replace a lesson's whole content: the block document, the interactive HTML, the quiz, or the branching scenario.
  • Change a lesson's title, section title or material type, without touching its content.
  • Reorder the lessons in a course.
  • Restore a lesson to a previous version.
  • Mark a reviewer's comment as resolved, after fixing what it points at.
  • Find and add stock photos to a lesson, when stock photos are enabled on your account.

Every change your AI makes to a lesson's content saves a version of the lesson first, so you can always undo it.

What your AI cannot do

  • It cannot act without you asking - nothing leaves your account unless you ask a question in the chat.
  • It cannot bypass your plan's limits, such as the number of lessons a course may have.
  • On a plan without editing, any editing request is refused with "Editing from your AI chat is part of Pro. Reading works on every plan." A read-only connection is refused with a "Denied" message about the missing scope.

What you should see

When your AI edits a lesson, reopening it in LMSable shows the new content immediately.

If something goes wrong

  • "This lesson changed" appears when you save a lesson in LMSable: someone, or your AI chat, changed it elsewhere. Choose Reload lesson to see the latest version - your unsaved edits are then lost. Choose Keep editing to stay where you are and copy your changes somewhere safe first.
  • The AI reports it cannot save: the lesson changed since it last read it. Ask it to re-read the lesson and try again.
  • An edit did not turn out the way you wanted: ask your AI to list the lesson's versions and restore the previous one. LMSable has no lesson version list of its own; the Versions section of the Export step restores the whole course.
