Upload to Spoti

Import the .zip file LMSable gave you into a course in Spoti (page in Polish), the LMS made by eTechnologie. Spoti's interface is in Polish, so this article quotes its labels in Polish, with an English explanation in parentheses.

Before you start

  • Download your course package first: Export your course to SCORM 1.2. Do not unzip it. Spoti expects the .zip file as it was downloaded.
  • You need an account with instructor rights on your Spoti platform.
  • SCORM import is an optional Spoti module. If it is not turned on for your platform, the Import SCORM button does not appear. Ask your platform administrator or eTechnologie to turn it on.
  • Use a new course for the package. In Spoti, a SCORM course holds one lesson with the package content, and you cannot mix it with lessons and quizzes created in Spoti.

Steps

  1. In Spoti, click your avatar in the top right corner and, under Obszar Instruktora (instructor area), choose Dodaj kurs (add course). You can also turn on Tryb instruktora (instructor mode) in your account and click Dodaj Kurs in the side panel.
  2. In the Informacje o kursie (course information) form, enter the Nazwa kursu (course name) and any other details you need, then click Utwórz (create). Spoti saves the course as a draft and opens the course builder on the Program (curriculum) tab.
  3. Next to the Program heading, click Import SCORM.
  4. In the Importuj pakiet SCORM (import SCORM package) window, drag in the .zip file you downloaded from LMSable, or click Wybierz plik (select file) and choose it.
  5. Wait for the message SCORM został pomyślnie załadowany (SCORM loaded successfully).
  6. To make the course available to learners, click Wróć do listy (back to list) in the top left corner of the builder. Open the three-dot menu under the course tile and choose Opublikuj (publish).

What you should see

The Program tab shows a Kurs SCORM (SCORM course) panel with the name of your package file instead of a list of lessons. Once the course is published, learners assigned to it open your LMSable course inside Spoti, in their browser.

What Spoti reports

Spoti supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004, and LMSable packages use SCORM 1.2. Spoti saves the completion status the package sends (cmi.core.lesson_status) as the learner's course status, and it uses the score (cmi.core.score.raw) as the learner's course progress percentage. In a course with interaction, quiz or test lessons, the progress Spoti shows is therefore the score of the scored lessons, not the share of completed lessons. Set Passing criteria and Scoring thresholds on the Settings step before exporting, so these come through correctly. The exact values the package sends are listed in What your LMS will report.

Administrators and group leaders find the results of SCORM courses on the SCORM tab of Spoti's Raporty (reports).

If something goes wrong

  • There is no Import SCORM button: the SCORM module is not turned on for your platform. Ask your platform administrator or eTechnologie.
  • Pakiet SCORM zawiera błędy (the SCORM package contains errors), with Niedopuszczalne pliki w pakiecie (files not allowed in the package): Spoti accepts only certain file types inside a package. If the list shows .m4a files, your course has audio in M4A format, which Spoti does not accept by default. Replace the audio with MP3 files in LMSable and export again, or ask your platform administrator to add m4a to Dozwolone rozszerzenia wewnątrz SCORM zip (allowed extensions inside the SCORM zip) in Spoti's SCORM settings. If the list shows .webp images, ask eTechnologie to update your platform.
  • Pakiet SCORM powinien zawierać plik imsmanifest.xml (the SCORM package should contain the imsmanifest.xml file): the uploaded file holds unzipped or repacked package content. Upload the .zip file exactly as you downloaded it from LMSable.
  • The course does not open, or shows a blank player: see Troubleshooting: the course does not start or does not save progress.
  • The progress percentage does not match the lessons completed: in a course with scored lessons, Spoti shows the score as progress. See What Spoti reports above.
