Upload to Moodle

Add the .zip file LMSable gave you as a SCORM activity in Moodle. This covers Moodle 4.x; other LMS platforms follow a similar pattern.

Before you start

Download your course package first: Export your course to SCORM 1.2. Do not unzip it - Moodle expects the .zip file as it was downloaded.

Steps

  1. In your Moodle course, turn editing on and click Add an activity or resource.
  2. Choose SCORM package.
  3. Give the activity a name.
  4. Under Package file, drag in the .zip file you downloaded from LMSable, or click to browse for it.
  5. Save and return to the course, or save and display to open the package straight away.

What you should see

The SCORM activity appears on the course page. Opening it launches your LMSable course inside Moodle's SCORM player, with navigation and a completion status.

What Moodle reports

LMSable packages use SCORM 1.2. Moodle reads the completion status (cmi.core.lesson_status) and the score (cmi.core.score.raw). If the course has interaction, quiz, test or scenario lessons, the score is the learner's grade. Set Passing criteria and Scoring thresholds on the Settings step before exporting, so these come through correctly.

If something goes wrong

  • The activity does not open, or shows a blank player: see Troubleshooting: the course does not start.
  • Moodle rejects the file: confirm you uploaded the .zip itself, not its unzipped contents. Moodle detects the SCORM version from the package, so there is no version to set.
  • The score looks like a progress percentage: a course with only text and video lessons has nothing to grade, so it reports progress as the score.
