Block reference

The block palette has 21 block types in three groups, seven in each.

Content

  • Text - a paragraph of plain text or simple HTML.
  • Section header - a heading that breaks the lesson into parts.
  • Statement - a short callout in one of four styles: Highlight, Info, Warning or Success.
  • Quote - a quoted passage with an optional source.
  • Two columns - two blocks of text side by side, each with an optional image.
  • Table - a simple table with an optional header row.
  • Divider - a plain visual break between sections.

Media

  • Image - a picture, with a caption and an optional lightbox.
  • Image section - an image paired with a title and text.
  • Slider - a carousel of images, each with its own caption.
  • Hotspot image - an image with clickable points that reveal extra content.
  • Video - an embedded video from YouTube or Vimeo.
  • Audio - an uploaded MP3 recording.
  • Attachment - a downloadable PDF file, with a label.

Interactive

  • Accordion - a list of titled items the learner opens and closes.
  • Tabs - the same idea as an accordion, shown as tabs instead.
  • Checklist - a list of items the learner can tick off.
  • Flashcards - front-and-back cards the learner flips.
  • Hidden section - content revealed behind a label, such as "Show the answer".
  • Continue - a button that hides the rest of the lesson below it until the learner clicks it.
  • Survey - asks learners to rate the course. Answers go to your LMS reports and never change the score.

If something goes wrong

  • You are not sure which block fits: start with Text, then use Smart split with AI on that Text block to split it into other blocks once you see the content.
  • A media block needs a file you have not uploaded yet: check the size and format limits in Images, files and media limits.
