What to do after the import - your course is already exportable

You do not have to fill every lesson before you can download a working SCORM package.

Why this matters

LMSable's export skips any lesson that has no content yet. That means you can import a table of contents, export immediately, and get a valid SCORM 1.2 package containing only the lessons you have already filled - useful for testing your LMS setup, or for shipping a course in stages.

Steps

  1. After the import, LMSable opens the Lessons step with the full list, filled and empty.
  2. Click Preview course to check the filled lessons before exporting.
  3. Go to the Export step and click Download SCORM package once at least one lesson has content - you do not need to wait until every lesson is filled.
  4. Come back later, fill more lessons with Fill a lesson: copy the prompt, paste the answer, and export again to replace the package in your LMS.

What you should see

The downloaded package contains only the lessons that had content when you exported. While every lesson is still empty, Download SCORM package stays disabled - fill at least one lesson first.

If something goes wrong

  • The exported course looks shorter than the outline: that is expected - empty lessons are left out on purpose. Fill the missing ones and export again.
  • You want every lesson to have at least a draft: turn on Also draft lesson content when you create the course, so the AI fills a working draft in every text lesson during import. Interaction, quiz and video lessons still need filling.
